Gratitude is a word, a thought, and an action that is common place in our minds. It is expressed in moments of joy and in moments of difficulty. It changes our hearts, minds, and brain chemistry. It changes the same in both the giver and the receiver.

At this point, based on the title of this Wellness Wednesday email, I am hoping you’re wondering who Matt is and what he has to do with today’s message! Mike Nead, a long-time friend and member of our team, introduced us to the With Gratitude Matt Foundation and Podcast. “The With gratitude Matt Foundation is dedicated to supporting individuals who demonstrate great courage and gratitude in the face of significant obstacles.”

I am pleased to introduce our Wellness Wednesday readers to Matt Moran:

“Matt Moran was…a guy from the Midwest, living his life and providing for his family, when he was diagnosed with cancer. But what made Matt remarkable and such a blessing to those in his life was his joyous spirit and his dedication to gratitude.

He was initially diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2015, and had surgery at that time. Doctors told him he was cancer-free, but then in late 2018 the cancer returned. He began searching online for inspiration from others’ cancer journeys as he faced this difficult news. In hearing their stories, Matt thought, “I want to be like that. And I can’t wait until I’m on the other side of this diagnosis. I have to start right now.” And that inspired him to start a blog and podcast called, “With Gratitude, Matt” in 2020.”

Matt’s story, mission, and purpose are worth knowing and worth sharing. His brother Bill has taken on that mission and is continuing to give it to the world through both the foundation and the podcast.

Tom and I were recently invited by Bill to be guests on the With Gratitude Matt Podcast. We shared our own stories and thoughts on how Top 20 Training and Gratitude are intertwined. Feel free to listen on the link above or if you’d rather watch us on video, click HERE.

We are grateful for Matt and Bill’s mission to share stories of gratitude and courage in response to their own obstacles. Their work is a continued story of hope and perspective.

A challenge for the day:

  1. Please share Matt’s example of gratitude and courage with those you come into contact with today.
  2. Find your way of expressing gratitude to those that have been an influence in your life or have been the anchor in the moment you needed.

Thanks from our Top 20 team,…Willow, Tom, and Kevin
