I’m writing this week’s Wellness Wednesday from Hartfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta. I came to Georgia to work with the wonderful staff at Lanier Middle School and to visit relatives.
At 6:00 this morning I began my hour trek to the airport. The heavy traffic moved smoothly towards downtown Atlanta. Drivers stayed in their own lanes or used their directional signals whenever they changed lanes.
After returning my rental car, I took the train to the busiest airport in the world. The massive crowd walked in all directions as people made their way to their gates. A number of people were being pushed in wheel chairs by airport workers. Those who wanted a breakfast sandwich or cup of coffee stood in line at McDonald’s. When it came time to board, those at gate 34 heading to Minneapolis stood in line to show their tickets.
It was then that I realized that I had thrown my ticket away with the wrapper and bag from my breakfast sandwich. In a panic, I said to the Delta agent, “I have lost my ticket.” As if spoken by an angel, he responded, “I can help you with that.”
As I plopped down in seat 17E, I realized that I had just experienced two hours of thousands of absolute strangers cooperating with each other. As a result, everyone was getting to places they wanted to go.
Cooperation, the process of people working together, yields amazing results. This can occur when we are heading in the same direction or when we are heading in a thousand different directions.
Notice how cooperation shows up in your life this week. Notice how angels appear and say to you, “I can help you with that.” Even more so, notice the opportunities that will come your way to be that angel.
From our team…Willow, Kevin, and Tom…who frequently appear as angels in my life.
