Blog

This week at school, let’s make an extra special effort to involve the parents/guardians in the learning process. They are so instrumental in supporting what you are doing in the classroom! Sometimes teachers try to stay at arm’s reach from the parents, trying to protect themselves from criticism.

Remember: it’s not about Teaching, it’s all about Learning. If you want to maximize learning in the classroom, you’ve got to eliminate as many barriers as possible. Many times, the parents are more keenly aware of the obstacles that inhibit their children’s learning. Open up the lines of communication!

Just for fun, send an email or a note home informing them on what’s being taught …or how wonderful their child is doing! It’s more common to contact parents when things are not going so well at school; it’d be a refreshing change of pace to send good news home!
